What is a SIP trunk and when would you need one?
A SIP trunk is the voice connection between an IP phone system, such as 3CX and the public telephone network. These are for larger Phone System deployments, usually managed by your IT professional. Your phone system continues to manage extensions, queues, reception menus, devices and users, while the SIP trunk carries inbound and outbound calls.
