Microsoft Teams Calling

Microsoft Teams Calling

Make and receive business calls in Microsoft Teams.

For organisations already working in Microsoft Teams, MedicCom can connect selected users to external business calling. Staff can answer business numbers and call customers from Teams while remaining part of the wider business phone system.

Hybrid PBX integration

Use Microsoft Teams as an extension of the hosted PBX.

For suitable Microsoft 365 environments, a Teams user can be linked to an extension on the MedicCom hosted PBX. Users can make and receive external calls in Microsoft Teams, call non-Teams extensions and remain part of the wider business-number and call-routing design.

Microsoft Teams app connects bidirectionally to a Teams-linked PBX extension, the MedicCom Hosted PBX and the public telephone network. The PBX also supports desk phones and non-Teams extensions, business numbers and outbound caller ID, IVR queues and ring groups, and time conditions and call routing.

Teams users

  • Make and receive external calls in the Teams app
  • Call regular extensions on the hosted PBX
  • Use supported Microsoft Teams desktop and mobile clients
  • Present the configured business caller ID

The hosted PBX retains

  • Business numbers and extension dialling
  • Inbound routing and time conditions
  • IVR menus, queues and ring groups
  • Voicemail, recording and other enabled PBX features

Hybrid PBX or Direct Routing?

Hybrid PBX links a Teams user to a hosted-PBX extension. Direct Routing can instead associate a Teams user with a telephone number. MedicCom will confirm the appropriate integration model, licensing and tenant requirements before deployment.

Appropriate Microsoft Teams or Teams Phone licensing is required and supplied separately.
